…well, Memorial Day has come and gone so it’s the unofficial start of summer (except for the weather- low 50′s are pretty chilly for the end of May). The farmer’s markets are starting to pick up and we have all the plants that we’re growing this year in the ground. We celebrated the long weekend by having a bunch of people over for dinner both Saturday and Sunday nights. On Saturday, we had the SanVicentes and Catalanos over for dinner. We pulled out some of our old tricks and tried to refine some newer ones:
Gruyere Gourgeres
Sweet, sour, hot, acid…
Asparagus, egg yolk, viniagrette…
Soup and Sandwich…
Gnocchi with squash and zucchini…
On Sunday, we had the Foleys down from Pawtucket…the tart surfaced again along with a white bean salad and boneless country style pork spare ribs done on the grill while dodging some rain and thunderstoms…all in all, everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food!!
