Welcome to our Blog! We are RI residents that moved here two years ago from MA and NH…we are always searching for new food adventures and try to eat as locally as possible…we will be devoting a couple of months per year to eating strictly within our 100 mile radius but in between will we be posting about where we’ve been and what we’ve been eating…

Hello, I am working with HP Hood to promote the second annual New England Dairy Cook-Off and Chef’s Challenge. We are wondering if you might be interested in judging the Chef’s Challenge in Portland, Maine 10/30, which will pit six New England chefs against each other in a holiday classics throwdown. Please provide an email address so we can send the formal invite. Thanks!

    Ingrid, Josh,

This post may be of interest to your readers, concerning local foods. Brown University chose Rhody Fresh milk as its sole milk supplier for on-campus dining services.

Perhaps you could mention this collaboration as a practical way local buyers can help sustain local farming — and give folks such as yourselves the opportunity to have local foods.

If you’d like more info, please let me know.

    Hi Josh and Ingrid,

My name is Deborah and I’m writing from 3 Scoops, an ice cream and dessert place, which just opened for the season. We are located at 403 Washington Street in Brighton, MA.
I love your blog and have been reading it now for a while. We would love to invite you to our shop to try some of our desserts and get some feedback from you. We make the ice cream by ourselves and have also ice cream from famous Vegan chef Wheeler del Torro featured.

We are having an “open house” on April 2 2011 between 12pm and 5pm. Please let us know what your favorite ice cream is so we can make some and have it on hand when you stop in.

If you have any questions about 3 Scoops please email me. I’m looking forward to seeing you there.

    Best regards,
    Deborah

Hi Josh and Ingrid – I love your blog and thought you may be interested in this foodie event. As you may know, June is National Dairy Month, and in celebration, HP Hood® is launching their third annual, Hood New England Dairy Cook-off®. Recipe submissions are now being accepted at http://www.HoodCookOff.com until September 12, from amateur cooks across New England in the chance to win $10,000.

Cooks can submit their original recipe, featuring one or more eligible Hood dairy products. Recipes will be divided into five categories including: breakfast/brunch; soups/chowders; appetizers/side dishes; lunch/dinner (entree); and dessert.

Last year, Mary Jo Fletcher of North Kingston, RI made it all the way to the finals, where she competed for the $10,000 Grand Prize with her Turkey Scaloppine with with Lemon-Thyme Cream Sauce over Cranberry Polenta dish.

Please let me know if you are interested in more information. Thank you.
