…we hit the jackpot today at the Providence Farmer’s Market! Ingrid had contacted the people at Narragansett Creamery in search for some yogurt and they had some waiting for us at the market today. Seeing that we were out of our pre-100 mile yogurt, this was good news because it is an integral part of our morning smoothies. We left Boston this morning after a day of eating at other people’s houses- Ingrid’s sister Jessica rewarded us for helping out with her yardwork by making her version of a 100 mile lunch which starred bison hot dogs from Alta Vista Bison Farm in Rutland, MA, strawberries, and salad. We thought the bison dogs were very tasty and we inhaled them rather quickly. We spent the rest of the 4th at Chris and Grace’s in Charlestown for a cookout featuring Chris’s great wings and superb homebrew…late night boozy conversations had us conspiring a multi-course beer dinner…stay tuned for that one! We hit the Providence market on our way and picked up our yogurt, along with some mozzarella cheese, apples (from last Fall’s harvest)….carrots, onion, tomatoes, salad greens, country style spare ribs from Watson Farm in Jamestown, RI and to our surprise, red and yellow cherries from Glastonbury, CT. We had no idea that we’d be eating cherries as a part of our RI 100 mile diet!
